Join us for National Grief Awareness Day.
Grief is universal and almost all of us will experience it at some point in our lives. Despite this it can be a very lonely experience.
It is almost impossible to know how you will react, as we all process our grief in different ways. Your journey is individual to you! After a loss you may experience any of the following
Shock, denial or disbelief.
Numbness and denial.
Panic and confusion.
Anger or hostility.
Feeling overwhelmed.
Relief.
Mixed feelings.
Depending on your experience you may also be suffering from trauma when grieving.
There is no right or wrong way to feel after a loss and there is no timeline on grief. We all mange our emotions differently and that is OK. Some like to talk and some like to withdraw and be alone. It is important to respect this and not to judge.
In this session Louisa shares her personal journey and talks about the loss of a parent from a child’s perspective and the loss of a child from a parent’s perspective. We will explore the 5 stages of grief and the impact of trauma, providing useful tips along the way on how to support ourselves and others better. Just being aware of the impact grief can have and acknowledging this is the first step to better support. Please join us to learn more.
